Ann's Background
 

Ann has worked as an artist in many different ways over the years.  Now, as a full-time social worker by day, she is able to teach workshops and classes evenings, weekends and on the odd Friday She also creates paintings for sale and does restoration of caned and other woven seat chairs- a craft she has enjoyed for over 25 years.  Through Art Works Studio, Ann has taught art to people of all ages in a variety of settings including adult study groups, staff retreats, and residential addictions treatment facilities. Ann has worked as an art teacher K-12 and most recently as a high school studio art and art history teacher for the Academe of Aurora and the Aurora Waldorf High School.  She has been an artist-in-residence through the UB Center for the Arts- Arts in Healthcare Initiative at Roswell Park Cancer Institute since the program's founding in 2008. Ann has extensive art education training through the Waldorf High School Teacher Training program at the Center for Anthroposophy in New Hampshire, through Arscura, a school for Art in the Healing and Social Fields in Ontario, Canada, and through Buffalo State Colllege.  Before all that, Ann was a scenic artist and props artisan for regional theaters in Ohio, Massachusetts and New York.
